For over 20 years, Ms. Vitug acted as a voting member of Scotiabank’s Equity Liability Committee where she was responsible for evaluating risk and allocating capital for global financings. Sarah is a veteran of the legal industry, with a focus on the insurance space. Her experience in insurance defence litigation has been with top tier law firms, representing many insurance companies across Canada. She has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on numerous occasions and has a number of reported decisions. More recently, she has worked with Desjardins General Insurance Group and has acted as both a lawyer and as a strategic advisor, acting as part of the management team of the legal group, advising on critical issues, such as the strategic direction of the legal department. She is a subject matter expert and has presented on behalf of the Law Society of Ontario on the topic of slip and falls and auto accident law. Jonathan has twenty years of finance and capital markets experience and has held senior executive and C-Suite level roles with Manulife Financial, Sagen MI Canada, and the TMX Group. His role as Chief Client Officer at TMX Investor Solutions and its predecessor firm focused on corporate governance advisory, proxy solicitation and investor engagement. He spent almost a decade between Manulife Financial and Sagen MI Canada in investor relations roles with increasing responsibility, and at Sagen MI Canada (formerly known as Genworth Canada), he was Vice President, Investor Relations, acting as key spokesperson to the buy-side, and sell-side. His experience has been primarily in finance roles of increasing seniority; including corporate finance, investor relations, treasury, corporate development and corporate strategy. Prior to this, he worked in investment banking and equity research and held these high impact capital markets roles with top-tier national and global firms such as Citigroup, Scotia Capital and Société Générale.
